Those who have looked at these reports in previous years may recall the friendly but intense contest between me and Colin Brown for the “cofffeee” stakes. This year is a bit different since I’m not shooting. So whenever Colin registers a score in a Grand Agg match, he wins! After today it’s 1 to Colin, with one no result! It could be quite an expensive week! Jim T.

First of all, a correction from yesterday.  The Army & Navy Veterans match was actually won by Bob Pitcairn, Chilliwack BC, with a score of 75.8.  A number of the competitors who were competing in the Commonwealth Games Trial yesterday choose to concurrently enter the corresponding Warm-up matches.  Sadly, yours truly did not (a point that he forgot when writing yesterday’s report).  The correct results are now available on the website.

Today was the start of the Grand Aggregate.  Prior to that however, we concluded the warm up matches with the Tilton in the morning.  Sandy Walker from the Great Britain Rifle Team won the match with a fine score of 100v18.  The Tilton completed the Champlain Aggregate, consisting of all the warm up matches.  Chris Weeden, Captain of the GBRT, won the Champlain Aggregate with a score of 348v47.  This was 5 v-bulls higher than Rick Shouler, UK.

Speaking of Rick Shouler, he got off to a fast start in the Grand, scoring a victory in the Macdougall, with a score of 100v17.  The GBRT swept the top three positions with Jon Underwood and Angus McLeod placing second and third respectively.

The Black Powder matches concluded with a team match, fired at 900m.  Unfortunately, scores are not available at the time of writing.  Presuming they will be available later this evening, I shall provide a summary in tomorrow’s report.

The forecast for tomorrow is clear and warm, with a high of 29 degrees C.  Tuesday however, looks ominous with 15-20mm rain and a chance of thundershowers in the forecast.  Tomorrow’s matches include the Colonel John C. Brick (500/600 yrds) and the Norman Becket (300/800m).
